Day 253 (December 5, 2010) – Family Ornament Exchange and Lumpia Wrapping Party

This morning Annaliese and I started out at Mass with Aunt Linda, Aunt Lorretta, and Boo. Then we went to Panera for lunch and to do our annual Christmas Ornament Exchange. Annaliese even got her own ornaments, A Baby’s First Christmas ornament from Aunt Loretta. I was excited to give out my ornaments this year because they were old family ornaments that my Grandmother had. About a year ago my dad found a box in my Grandmother’s garage with all of her Christmas ornaments in it and he brought it to me. Inside were engraved ornaments that she had gotten year ago with different family members’ names on them. So for the ornament exchange this year I decided to give those ornaments to everyone. They were so surprised and excited. I have always had a thing for engraved ornaments and in fact have actually bought an ornament and engraved Eric’s and my names on them since the year we started dating. The ones that I had collected became the first ornaments on our tree when Eric and I first bought our house. I also have some engraved ornaments that were mine and Eric’s when we were little and also some that had my grandparents names engraved and my parents’ names engraved that were old. I guess that kind of thing was popular way back. Anyway the ornament exchange was wonderful.

After Panera we went to Aunt Loretta’s to wrap Lumpia. Brandon and Taylor are having a graduation party in a couple of weeks and we had to wrap the lumpia for it. We also have loved to sit around and wrap lumpia together. It’s just a family tradition when getting ready for family parties!
