Day 132 (August 6, 2010) – Shopping time

Today we went shopping with Grammy. Annaliese is such a trooper when I take her from place to place. I only hope that she will always be this good to shop with.

Annaliese didn’t sleep well tonight or this week really. It’s so hard when babies sleep so well one week and you think you’re doing great and then a week comes along when they wake all night long! Oh well, on to the next day!

ay 131 (August 5, 2010) – Showing off her rolling skills

Today we went shopping with Baba. Later Annaliese and I went to Family Night at Aunt Loretta’s. Since Annaliese’s Godparents were there she was able to show them her new skill of rolling over! Everyone enjoyed watching her roll.

Day 130 (August 4, 2010) – Adorable Kewpies

For all of you that don’t know…a Kewpie is a doll. Eric’s grandmother has collected Kewpies for a long time and since my mom was a doll collector both Eric and I are very familiar with Kewpies. We both have thought that Annaliese resembles a Kewpie doll (especially when she gets out of the bath) and so we asked Baba to bring one over so we can have Annaliese’s picture made with it. We are going to submit the picture to a magazine. When we first showed it to her she held it’s hand for the longest time and just stared at it.

Day 129 (August 3, 2010) – Play Date & Raspberries

Today we had a play date with Ian. Annaliese has now started blowing raspberries even better. Ian has been doing it for a long time so maybe she learned how to perfect her technique by watching him!

Day 128 (August 2, 2010) - Rolling Over

Tonight we went to dinner and over to Grammy’s house to celebrate her birthday (that’s tomorrow). While we were there Annaliese rolled over for the first time from her back to her stomach (at 9:48 at night). She would put her feet up in the air, throw them over to the side, and then get herself all the way to her belly. Yay, Annaliese 4mos and 6 days old and you’re already rolling over. We were all proud of you tonight. Grammy and Baba were so excited they got to witness it and were cheering you on as you rolled yourself on over. We came home later and showed Daddy so he wouldn’t miss it on the night it happened!

Annaliese wore her, “Off to Grandma’s” outfit today since it was Grammy’s special day.

We also took a picture before we left of the large container of coins that my dad gave Annaliese. We took them over to Grammy’s so that she could help roll them.

Day 127 (August 1, 2010) – Happy 60th Birthday, Aunt Erlinda!

This morning we started out by having a surprise birthday breakfast for Aunt Linda. She was in Hawaii for her birthday and so we celebrated it today. Later that night all the girls in the family took her out on the Spirit of Norfolk for dinner and dancing. We had a nice time! What was even nicer was that Annaliese slept almost 9 hours without waking up for a feeding! I only wish this happened every night. I guess she needed the rest after a busy weekend.

Day 126 (July 31, 2010) – Winery and Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens

Mommies having fun!

Daddies on bottle duty!

Today Daddy, Annaliese, and I headed off to Williamsburg with Michelle, Russ, and Ian. Michelle and Russ have wanted to take Eric and I to the Williamsburg Winery since before we had children but never got there. We decided to take a trip up there today. We had lunch and tour the facility. The kids did great. It was a beautiful winery and a beautiful day.

After the winery we headed over to Busch Gardens. The kids enjoyed riding (in their strollers) and checking everything out. We stayed for fireworks again tonight too! Needless to say the kids, and the parents, were tired after the long day.

Day 125 (July 30, 2010) – Busch Gardens

Today was Annaliese’s first time at Busch Gardens. Her Godmommy took her to see the horses. She did great looking around at everything and didn’t even cry when the fireworks started.

Annaliese has now begun rubbing her eyes when she's tired. She has also started turning her head during a feeding. She seems to being doing new stuff everyday.

Day 124 (July 29, 2010) – I can grab my feet!

Today we went to the mall for a play date with Ian. Annaliese was much more alert this time than she has been on previous play dates even though she doesn't look very alert here. It will be great when they can both actually "play" on play dates.

Today was the first day that Annaliese grabbed both of her feet during a diaper change! I told her that she was being such a big helper to Mommy and she smiled!

Day 123 (July 28, 2010) – Shot fever

Annaliese had a fever still from her shots yesterday and I am feeling under the weather so we both just stayed in. We didn’t even feel like a picture today.

Four Months Old

Day 122 (July 27, 2010) – Happy 4 Month Birthday, Annaliese!

I can’t believe my baby is out of the fourth trimester (per Dr. Karp and Happiest Baby!) Annaliese is such a sweet and loving baby. She loves to be cuddled all of the time but I think most breastfed babies do. Annaliese had her four month checkup today. Of course her Mommy went into the office with a list a mile long of questions. Our main question was about her bowel movement issue. For the last couple of weeks she has been going several days without a BM. I had talked to the doctor once about it before over the phone. The doctor today said everything is fine and that often times babies bowel patterns change around this time. We are now going to be able to give 1 ounce of prune juice twice a day to help her with this problem. We also talked to the doctor about her vitamins. She seems to gag when she gets them and still has a strong tongue thrusting reflex when I put the dropper in her mouth. The doctor said to just continue the vitamins the best we can and that she probably dislikes the taste of them as they have a horrible smell. Annaliese was more vocal today as she got her shots. Her cry seems louder and sadder than last time. Daddy held on tight to her again as she quickly got each one. Then we nursed and had Tylenol and she went to sleep by the time we hit the car. Eric and I decided to grab lunch while she slept on through. When we got home Annaliese got her first bottle of prune juice. She seemed to like it and drank the whole ounce up no problem.

Day 121 (July 26, 2010) – 2nd Day at the Chesapeake Bay

Today Annaliese and I took Mom-Mom down to our friend, Connie’s, place to visit. Mom-Mom enjoyed walking out on what used to be her father’s property to enjoy the sunshine and see the bay. We took a few pictures of 3 generations on the beach. What a lovely day!

Later in the day Annaliese and Mommy played in the floor and read books. Annaliese is really starting to “talk” more. She makes lots of sounds and seems quite interested in hearing herself.

In these pictures Annaliese is working hard to strengthen those muscles during "Tummy Time." You can also see her perfect little swirl in back of her hair.

Day 120 (July 25, 2010) – In Daddy’s arms

Annaliese loves to lounge with Daddy. I have always said my favorite place to be is wrapped in Eric’s arms so I guess that’s Annaliese’s favorite place too!
