Day 272 (December 24, 2010) – Baby’s 1st Christmas Eve

Today was Annaliese’s first Christmas Eve and she was starting to feel even sicker. We stayed home during the day and go things ready for going to Aunt Linda’s later. Annaliese really was starting not to feel good. We got over to Aunt Linda’s and celebrated Christmas with the family. Annaliese tried her very best to be in the best spirits but you could tell she was getting weak. I was also starting to feel pretty crummy and I think I was trying to get whatever Annaliese had. We enjoyed eating and opening gifts with the family. Annaliese got some beautiful things from everyone. We brought her Christmas PJs to put on later before we went home. I had wanted us to go to Midnight Mass as we usually do (and just let Annaliese sleep) but since she was sick we went ahead and went home. Annaliese went on to bed and Mommy and Daddy stayed up to get work done. Finally Daddy said he was going to bed and Mommy stayed up for another 3 hours wrapping all of the gifts for Christmas. I was exhausted by the time I finally went to bed and was starting to feel sicker and sicker as the night went on. Daddy did manage to read, “Twas’ the Night Before Christmas” before Annaliese went to bed and I guess Santa came while we were all asleep because the stockings were full when we woke up the next day!

Day 271 (December 23, 2010) – Christmas Goodies for “Brown Town”

Today I went with my Goddaughter and got her ears pierced for Christmas. She was a brave little girl and I was proud of her.

Later, Annaliese joined me in making my annual Christmas goodies for all of the sups at UPS (Daddy’s work.) We worked on chocolate covered pretzels all night but it was fun. No mater what’s going on and how busy I am at this time of the year I always make the pretzels for Eric to take to his co-workers. Believe me, peak season at UPS is the hardest time of the year, so you best believe that they ALL deserves something to cheer them up at work!

After that our wonderful neighbors came and exchanged gifts with us before they headed out of town for the holidays. Annaliese got some adorable outfits…thanks guys!

Day 270 (December 22, 2010) – First Official Cold

Well we went to the doctor today and Annaliese has her first official cold. I guess her being almost 9 mos. And just having her first cold is pretty good. However, I just wish she could have waited until after Christmas. With the snow, very cold temperatures, and her cold I have not wanted to take her out. Therefore I am still very behind on my shopping, unfortunately.

Before going home we went by Ian’s house to bring him his Christmas present since we probably won’t see him before Christmas. The kids exchanged there presents and Annaliese did good despite not being up to par.

Later she posed with some fun Christmas pics with the doggy!

Day 269 (December 21, 2010) – Waving Bye, Bye

Annaliese started to wave “bye, bye” today using her right hand. She is progressing along so well in her development.

She still didn’t feel well today. As you can see from the picture above I caught her coughing. I worked on getting my Christmas Cards out (very late, I know…but I guess better late than never.) Annaliese helped out too (or just observed I should say!) Granddaddy came by to try and get the old train set working and Annaliese just observed that too!

She developed a very croopy cough tonight while she was sleeping. I think we are going to get worse before we get better.
