Day 208 (October 21, 2010) – My Girls Having Fun

Today Quila spent the day sun bathing while Annaliese spent time in her exersaucer. Both of them enjoyed themselves. Quila has always loved spending time in the sunshine and will find the smallest ray of sunlight that comes through the house to lay in. She also like to just lay in the hot sun outside until she absolutely can’t stand it anymore then she will come in panting. Annaliese has been enjoying the exersaucer more and more. She is able to interact with more things on it and can stand well in it. Tonight we all went to Family Night and Aunt Loretta held Annaliese while I fed her over there for the first time. I also worked on Annaliese’s Halloween tutu that I’m making for her while I was there.

Day 207 (October 20, 2010) – New seat

After running errands and going to Little Gym we went to Mom-Mom’s. Annaliese got to try out eating in her new seat. She did well until the very end when she was either wanting more food or ready to get out. It’s sometimes hard reading a baby’s signs and knowing exactly what they want that will help them to be happier. Thankfully much of it is a mother’s instinct but sometimes a mom doesn’t always have all the answers…and I’ll be the first to admit that!

Day 206 (October 19, 2010) – Quick napper

We stayed in today and Annaliese decided that she didn’t want to nap very well. I think we probably slept in to long and then she wasn’t real tired but she only napped a few times for about 30 minutes. Some days napping is better than others. Today wasn’t a great nap day…therefore wasn’t a real productive day for Mommy! She did catch a little snooze in Daddy’s arms though!

Day 205 (October 18, 2010) – First Food…Pears

Today was a big day for Annaliese as she ventured into the really world of solid foods! We decided to start with fruits and we picked pears. She was adorable with her facial expressions when she first tried them. It’s so hard to believe that we are at this stage of her life already. I don’t know if I’m quite ready for this new chapter but she certainly seems to be. She also got feed by someone other than Mommy or Daddy today when Baba came over and gave her rice cereal.

With it being the big day of trying solid foods Mommy did a lot of work preparing. I have decided to try making Annaliese’s food. I will be honest I am a little nervous but excited at the same time. I bought a great book that explains things so well and has great recipes. Hopefully things will go as smoothly as the book describes. I had fun making her pears and there was definitely something reassuring in the back of my mind just knowing that I had made them. I used one our wedding presents, The Bullet, to make all of her food and it did great! I can’t wait to puree many other fruits and veggies!

We also used Annaliese’s new stamp that Grammy gave her to make a tag for a birthday present. I made two bows for the little girl’s gift along with some other bows for Annaliese!

Day 204 (October 17, 2010) – On all 4’s

Today Annaliese got on all 4’s for a short period of time before dropping back down and scooting. It won’t be long now before she’s crawling! Later Grammy came over and brought Annaliese some books and a stamp with her name on it. Thanks for the stamp Grammy, Mommy loves it!

Day 203 (October 16, 2010) – The Breast Cancer Walk & The Pumpkin Patch

This morning Annaliese and I went to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront to participate in the Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure” charity walk. We walked with my dad and aunts, Eric’s mom, and others that were down there. I decided to decorate Annaliese’s stroller with pink ribbons and a sign dedicated to my mom. Annaliese and I wore matching bows that also matched the ribbons on her stroller. We had to be festive for the pink event. I know that I’m a little partial but Annaliese was adorable. Other people that I didn’t know must have also thought she was cute because I was stopped several times and asked if they could take pictures of her. One lady even asked my permission to post her picture on Face Book. We had a nice walk and I hope that Annaliese and I can always participate in this event.

In the afternoon we visited the pumpkin patch with Michelle, Russ, and Ian. We had a great time looking around at Hunt Club Farms and picking out pumpkins. Eric and Annaliese went on a search to find just the perfect pumpkin and finally found one that sat nicely, was shaped well, and had a good stem…all requirements that Eric had. We took some photos of the kids but Ian was very interested in getting to Annaliese’s bow. We also saw a couple from our Birthing Class there with their daughter as well.

After the pumpkin patch we went back to Ian’s house and had dinner. Annaliese even took a short nap in Ian’s Pack-n-Play while we watched a movie. Even after our long but enjoyable day Annaliese still posed for a smile when we got home!
