“sorry.”
On Sunday we celebrated Taylor’s (Brandon’s girlfriend) 21st birthday. We had a great time playing games and watching her open her presents. Eric and I gave her a Fossil watch for her birthday. I told her that she would need that watch when she started teaching.
The first part of the week I had lots on my agenda. Since I was off work I finally had time to get some things done. What was really nice about the week was that I could sleep in when I wanted, snack/eat when I wanted, take naps when I wanted, etc. It was a great time in my pregnancy to have a week off! My appetite still remains normal. I don’t feel like I’m extra hungry yet but I’m sure it’s going to come. My indigestion still continues but it’s not that bad.
On Monday Baba, Mrs. Thames, and myself went to visit Eric’s great Aunt Della. She is the one who made the beautiful yellow and white blanket for Baby Thames for Christmas. When I went to visit her I was able to thank her for the blanket she had made.
On Tuesday my friend Michelle came over with her baby Ian. We visited at my house for a while and then went to lunch. She had came over to bring me a Princess House baby spoon that I had ordered from her mom for Baby Thames. It is so cute! We had fun at lunch and Ian was a good boy! I also was able to order swatches today of the colors of the nursery. I am registering for the bedding and other nursery items at Restoration Hardware and when I called them they said that they could send me swatches of the colors. So exciting! I also began researching baby furniture more in depth. I was able to go and see what was out in the stores and compare it with what is online. It’s hard to know what is best to buy.
On Wednesday it was December 30th, my mom’s birthday. As I worked hard to get things done off of my agenda I couldn’t take my mind off my mom. She would have been 56 this year. I miss her dearly and think more and more about the kind of mom she was to me. As my 30th birthday approaches it is hard to believe that I will have outlived my mother. I can’t imagine losing me life right now, heavens, I’m just getting started. It is truly sad to go through the pregnancy process without a mom. So, for all those girls out there who still have their mom do me a favor and hug her today!
On Thursday it was New Year’s Eve. Eric had to work today so when he got home he was very tired. We were going to go out to eat but Eric slept through dinner so we just ate something at home. As Eric was sleeping I placed the order for all of our nursery furniture!!! I was so excited with what I found and I think it is going to look great in the room. For our New Year’s celebration we had our friends DJ, Penny, their son Tristan, Penny’s mom, and their roommate Bud come over. Eric’s brother also came to help us ring in the New Year. Everybody enjoyed some “adult beverages” as Tristan and I sipped on sparkling grape juice in our toasting flukes! We had fun!
On Friday we had to return/exchange a few things from Christmas so Eric and I went shopping. For dinner we went to DJ and Penny’s house for a Thai dish that Penny’s mom had prepared. It was delicious. The girls sat around and talked after dinner while the guys went to a friend’s house to play poker. When I got home I began taking down my Christmas decorations. I usually like to keep my decorations up through the 12 Days of Christmas but this year my family was coming over to help me set up for my birthday party before I headed back to work so I needed to have everything picked up. As I reflected this New Year’s Day on all of the wonderful things that happened in 2009 I can only hope and be confident that 2010 will be even better! HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!
