Day 101 (July 6, 2010) – First Trip to the Chesapeake Bay

Today Annaliese saw the Chesapeake Bay for the first time. We went to visit one of my dad’s friends, Connie, that lives on Page Avenue. I know you all are probably wondering why I am making such a big deal of this so I will explain. My Great Grandfather, Ghee-Ghee, had a beach house on the Chesapeake Bay. When I was a little girl we would spend lots of time there, going to the beach, enjoying time with family, eating meals etc. His house sat on a stretch of the beach right between hotels and condominiums. He actually owned his property all the way from the street to the shore’s edge. When he passed away the house was sold and we were not able to go there anymore because a condominium complex was put there. When my dad met his friend Connie he found out that she lived in a complex that sits directly on my Ghee-Ghee’s old property. We were excited to have made this connection with Connie and so today she invited me to bring Annaliese here for the first time. There was something sentimental about bringing Annaliese out to that same stretch of beach for the first time!
