I was given a wonderful shower by my Aunt Cathy and my cousin Kristen. Most all of my family was able to come. We started out by eating the great food that had been prepared including fruit, which was my number one request. Next we played a few games. In the first game guests had to take either blue or pink streamers and estimate how big my belly was. The count was exactly even, half of the party thought we would have a girl and the other half thought boy! Aunt Loretta won with the closest measurement! I told everyone that aside from Eric, Aunt Loretta touches my belly more than anyone. I guess that’s why she won! In the next game guests had to name baby body parts from little riddles. I wasn’t very good. In the third game guests had to answer questions according to how they thought I would answer. There were questions that pertained to Mom, Dad, and Baby. My Aunt Claudia got the most answers right, 11/12! After games I began opening my presents. Aunt Cathy and Kristen had made an awesome Diaper Cake with lots of diapers and other necessities. We got some wonderful gifts and are grateful to everyone. As a special gift my grandmother brought some of my old things including little yellow booties. She also found one of my baby blankets that was yellow and green and put new satin around the edges for Baby Thames to use! I loved it! My little cousin Allie and my dance teacher’s grandson, Dylan helped me open my presents. They were already friends because they went to preschool together so they had a fun time playing while the party was going on. Halfway through the presents we stopped for cake. The cake was adorable because it had a picture of Eric and I both on it when we were little! During the party my cousin Amber also did a practice run with our video camera and regular camera so that she will be ready in the delivery room. We took lots of pictures. Mrs. Thames, a.k.a Eric’s mom, a.k.a Grammy, wore pink. She is definitely hoping for a girl. I also took a few pictures of my cute Godson, Ian who joined us for the party! Eric was excited as we went through the presents later because he got all three of the things he had wanted from the registry; his “man bag” Timberland Diaper Backpack, a lamb stuffed animal, and bathtub thermometer.
I felt very blessed to have such wonderful family around me at this special time. Big thanks to everyone!
