We always spend Christmas Eve with my dad’s side of the family. This year we went to Aunt Linda’s house and celebrated. We of course ate lots of good food and opened presents. My dad always likes to bring along his Santa filled with envelopes, with money, for the kids. Aunt Loretta was excited to feel Baby Thames kick for the first time on Christmas Eve and said that by next year Baby Thames could possibly be walking. That’s hard to believe! Jordon loved his Rosary that Eric and I gave him. Eric also took my “baby bump” shot of the month.
After Aunt Linda’s, Baby Thames and I went to Midnight Mass. Eric was busy with Adam visiting friends for a Christmas Party. I think Baby Thames really enjoyed all of the Christmas songs because he/she kicked the ENTIRE mass. I had forgotten to mention this before but since I’m talking about church I’ll mention it now. Ever since I have been pregnant I always do the “sign of the cross” to myself and on my stomach for the baby. I know the people around me at church must think I’m crazy but it just seems like the right thing to do. Also every time I go to church I always go to the children’s alter after mass, light 2 candles, (one from me and one from Eric) and pray for our baby. I really enjoy doing this!
Once mass was over, at 1:15 in the morning, I went home and Eric and I stuffed each other’s stockings (without each other seeing of course). We watched some of Eric’s favorite Christmas movie, A Christmas Story. As we laid down before going to bed we talked about how our Christmases from now on would never be the same again!
